We thoroughly enjoyed Putnam County Middle Schoolās Black History Program today! Students honored Black History Month with an incredible showcase of talent, culture, and history. Our chorus, band, dancers, and dramatic readers delivered powerful performances, and the highāenergy step show was a definite crowd favorite!

What an amazing Pep Rally at Putnam County High School today! Our Winter and Spring sports teams were celebrated with big cheers, and the energy in the Eagle Nest was electric! Our PCHS Service Leadership class had the honor of hosting a Black-Owned Business Expo on campus today! Local entrepreneurs were invited to share their stories, inspire our students, and showcase the incredible impact Black-owned businesses have in our community.
This event was designed to promote and support local businesses while giving students a meaningful opportunity to learn directly from business owners. Students walked from booth to booth, asking questions about each ownerās journey, challenges, successes, and the wisdom theyāve gained along the way.
It was truly inspiring to watch our students engaged, curious, and motivated by real-life examples of leadership, resilience, and innovation. A huge thank you to the business owners who invested their time, energy, and experiences into our students. Your voices made a lasting impact!

A total of 256 studentsāincluding CTAE juniors and seniors along with senior English studentsāhad the opportunity to participate in real-world interview experiences. More than 20 local businesses and community partners generously volunteered their time to provide meaningful, professional feedback to help our students grow.
Events like this build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and prepare students for future careers and post-secondary paths. By working with real community professionals, students gain insight into expectations, workplace readiness, and the power of first impressionsākey tools for their future success.

This wasnāt just a musical workshopāit was a truly educational, inspirational, and onceāināaālifetime experience. Our high school musicians were able to learn up close from a worldārenowned artist whose passion, talent, and energy filled the room and left a lasting impact on everyone present.

For decades, sheās been a celebrated staple of the French Quarterās Royal Street Performing Arts Zone with her band, Doreenās Jazz New Orleans. To have her here, guiding and inspiring our students, was truly an honor.
We extend our deepest gratitude to OPAS ā Oconee Performing Arts Society for making this enriching experience possible. ā¢ Coming from Madison, LEFT turns into the PCHS campus WILL NOT be permitted.
These temporary changes are due to ongoing construction on Highway 441. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation as we work to keep our students, families, and staff safe.
This should not affect afternoon traffic; however, please plan for possible delays if you are attending tomorrowās Georgia High School Regional Playoffs.

Back in November, Mr. Randall Harman visited Dr. Mortimerās U.S. History classes at Putnam County High School and spoke about the courage and sacrifice of the Freedom Riders. He donated eighteen copies of Buses Are Coming by the late Charles Person and invited students to read the text and submit an essay for a $1000 scholarship. Six students rose to Mr. Harman's challenge. They engaged the text, examined the legacy of the movement, and submitted historical writing that honored the struggle for civil rights while thoughtfully reflecting on challenges we face in our own time.
Impressed by the depth of thought and historical care, Mr. Harman expanded his commitment from three $1,000 scholarships to six after our War Eagles truly impressed him with the sophistication of their writing, and their demonstrable engagement with Mr. Person's memoir. Among the six students recognized today were Lily Schwartz, Coreyona Farley, Kellsey Ortega, Braxton Sestak, and Emma Johnson. This event reminds us of what is possible when a community comes together to lift the next generation during Black History Month and every month of the year.

We are grateful to Morgan County for hosting such a joyful and inclusive event! A huge congratulations to our very own Gianna Walker, crowned the 2026 Valentineās Day Dance Queen!
PCHS hosted the PROBE college fair yesterday with 39 colleges and universities, giving our PCHS juniors and seniors, Early College students, and seniors from surrounding high schoolsĀ the opportunity to explore postsecondary options, ask questions, and make meaningful connections for their futures.

Students then harvested the lettuce themselves for the following dayās salad bar. Growing their own food helps students understand where their meals come from and builds lifelong healthyāeating habits. It also empowers them to appreciate the work that goes into producing fresh foods and encourages them to make nutritious choices every day.
