Over the past two weeks, PCPS students took their learning beyond the classroom and into the heart of our community. Visits to the Eatonton Public Library, the Georgia Writers Museum, and the Plaza Arts Center allowed students to explore stories, history, and the arts through meaningful, realāworld experiences.
Each stop brought our ELA unit to life as students reflected on essential questions such as, āWhy is the past important?ā and āWhat can we learn from the past?ā They were able to connect classroom instruction with the people, stories, and creativity that have helped shape our community.
We are also grateful to the Putnam County Recreation Department for allowing us to use their picnic area for lunch and for helping make this special experience possible. It was a wonderful reminder that learning truly happens everywhere!

Alumni Spotlight at Putnam County High School! š¦
We were excited to welcome back PCHS Class of 2008 alumna Thomaesa B. Bailey to Putnam County High School last week! Ms. Bailey is an accomplished attorney, social worker, political strategist, and public policy expert with over 12 years of experience in politics. Her work has led to successful changes in the law at every level of governmentāfrom the city level in Detroit, to the state level here in Georgia, and even at the federal level in Washington, D.C.
During her visit, Ms. Bailey participated in a meetāandāgreet with our students, where she shared her personal journey and encouraged them to believe that their zip code does not define their future. Students were highly engaged and asked thoughtful questions as they learned firsthand whatās possible through hard work, determination, and purpose.
She concluded her visit with a tour of our CTAE classrooms and labs, seeing how PCHS is preparing students for life after high school and future career success. Thank you, Ms. Bailey, for coming back to inspire the next generation of Putnam County leaders! š
