The Oxford Summer Experience is designed to help Putnam County High School students grow both academically and socially as they prepare for life beyond high school. Through this program, students have the opportunity to explore STEAM subjects alongside the outstanding faculty at Oxford College of Emory University. For one week, students get a true taste of college life—living in dorms, dining in the cafeteria, and gaining valuable insight into topics like admissions, time management, and financial literacy. *Check out the District's Facebook page for more videos and pictures from our student's week at Oxford!
Throughout the week, they participate in engaging classes and activities such as computer technology, creative writing, science labs, and community service projects, among many others. The experience culminates with a special presentation day, where parents and PCCSS administrators are invited to Oxford to see all that students have accomplished.
At its heart, this program fosters lasting connections between university faculty, PCHS staff, students, and their families. We are #PutnamProud to partner with Oxford College of Emory University each year to offer such a meaningful experience—and we’re already looking forward to next summer!

✨ BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO REBEKAH ESAU! ✨
We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate Putnam County High School’s very own Rebekah Esau on being named the 2026-2027 PCHS Teacher of the Year! 🏆
As an incredible English Language Arts and Service Leadership teacher, Mrs. Esau does so much more than just teach—she inspires action, community, and purpose. From fostering a love for literature to guiding our future leaders through impactful real-world initiatives, her dedication to our War Eagles shines bright every single day. 🦅❤️

Thank you, Mrs. Esau, for your unwavering commitment to equipping our students with the confidence, tools, and opportunities to make a real difference in the world. This honor is so richly deserved!

If you were unable to pick up your graduate’s Class of 2026 senior sign from downtown Eatonton, no worries! Signs are still available for pickup at the Board of Education office.

The tassels were turned, the caps were tossed, and even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirit of the Class of 2026!
Through the delay and drizzle, our graduates shined bright and reminded us all what resilience, determination, and heart truly look like. We could not be more proud of this incredible group of students and all they have accomplished. 🎓✨

Class of 2026 Students, Families, and Friends,
We are continuing to monitor the weather for graduation tomorrow night at 8PM in the stadium. The forecasts continue to change, so no decisions to change anything have been made. If decisions are made, you will be notified tomorrow as early as possible. The current trend with the weather system is that it continues to slow down and will not arrive until late Friday night into Saturday morning. If you do not hear from us tomorrow, we are moving forward as planned.
Thank you! Our goal is to provide the best experience we possibly can for our students and their families to celebrate this great class of scholars.

A huge THANK YOU to the Georgia Association of School Business Officials (GASBO) for believing in and investing in student talent! Because of their support, one of our very own 10th grade Putnam County High School students, Camille Alvarez, was given the amazing opportunity to design this year’s conference logo.
Opportunities like this not only showcase the creativity and talent of our students but also give them real-world experience and confidence in their abilities. We are so proud to see our students’ hard work recognized on such a big stage—way to represent PCHS!
