2026-2027 District Teacher of the Year, Rebekah Esau

Mrs. Esau, an English teacher at Putnam County High School, is known for her innovative approach to learning and her commitment to developing student leaders. As the creator of PCHS's Service Leadership Program, she has empowered students to make a meaningful difference in their school and community through hands-on service projects, civic engagement, and leadership opportunities. Over the past five years, students in the program have completed more than 150 service initiatives, creating a lasting impact throughout Putnam County.

Mrs. Esau's dedication to student growth, community involvement, and real-world learning exemplifies the very best of PCCSS and makes her a deserving recipient of this honor.

Congratulations again to Mrs. Esau, as well as our other exceptional Teachers of the Year: Mr. Marcus Swain (PCPS), Mrs. Tonika Pettigrew (PCES), and Mrs. Elizabeth Harkins (PCMS). Each of these educators exemplifies the values of Putnam County Charter School System and makes us extremely Putnam Proud. Their contributions to education are invaluable, and we are grateful for their service to our students, schools, and community.
