At PCCSS, we believe educating the whole child means focusing not only on academic success but also on the emotional well-being of our students. Creating a supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and cared for is a top priority.

One of PCPS’ newest and most beloved resources is Charlie, our therapy dog. Charlie provides a calming presence for students and staff alike, offering comfort and support when someone may be having a difficult day. He has a special way of recognizing when extra encouragement is needed, and students have even requested visits to their classrooms as part of our existing reward programs. We are thrilled to have Charlie making a positive impact in our hallways and classrooms this year!
Charlie is just one of the many ways PCCSS supports student mental health. We also conduct universal screenings for all students, which help us identify social-emotional needs early and ensure students receive the appropriate support and resources. These screenings allow us to proactively address concerns, promote student well-being, and connect families with services when needed.
If your child is experiencing mental health challenges or if you have questions about available supports and services, please reach out to Pam Reese, our Educational Mental Health Specialist for PCCSS.
